I. Dry Powder Coating for Lost Foam Casting

1. High Manganese Steel

The high-manganese steel lost foam coating strengthening additive is a chemical auxiliary used to improve the tensile strength of various polymers. Unlike conventional fiber-reinforced materials, it works through mechanisms tailored to the chemical structure of the material to be enhanced. By means of specialized chemical polymerization and physical interactions, effective reinforcement can be achieved with a small addition, significantly improving the performance of various plastics.

The refractory aggregates consist of olivine, corundum, and similar materials, with a refractoriness of ≥1700 °C. The coating is well suited to the pouring temperature of high-manganese steel (approximately 1550 °C), effectively preventing both chemical and mechanical sand adhesion.

2.Strong Adhesion with Low Gas Generation

The binder system exhibits excellent wettability to foam patterns and does not crack after drying. With low gas evolution and controlled permeability, gaseous products from foam vaporization can be discharged smoothly, reducing gas-related casting defects such as porosity.

3.Excellent Process Adaptability

Recommended water-to-powder ratio: 1:0.6–0.65. The coating can be applied by dipping, pouring, or brushing, with a coating thickness of ≥1 mm. The dry powder has a long shelf life and is easy to mix after adding water, making it suitable for mass production of wear-resistant high-manganese steel castings such as crusher hammers and jaw plates.

4.Easy Cleaning and Environmentally Friendly

The coating contains no VOCs. After pouring, it peels off in a shell-like form, leaving a smooth casting surface and enabling high cleaning efficiency. Optimized formulations can also reduce the risk of metal back-spray during pouring.
