Product Description

Fused ceramic sand for lost foam casting (commonly known as “Baoshu Sand”) is a high-performance spherical artificial sand produced from high-purity bauxite through high-temperature melting and spray granulation. It is specifically designed for lost foam casting and is suitable for demanding castings such as cast iron, cast steel, and stainless steel. It can replace quartz sand or chromite sand, significantly improving casting surface quality and dimensional accuracy.

Features:

1.Spherical Shape with High Flowability

The near-spherical particles have smooth surfaces, offering excellent flow and filling properties. They tightly wrap complex foam patterns, reduce filling dead zones, and improve permeability by 30–50%.

2.Low Thermal Expansion and High Dimensional Accuracy

The thermal expansion coefficient is only 1/3–1/5 that of quartz sand. The sand remains dimensionally stable at high temperatures, effectively preventing mold cracking and casting deformation, thus enhancing dimensional precision.

3.High Refractoriness and Anti-Burn-On Performance

Refractoriness exceeds 1750 °C. The material is chemically inert and does not react with molten metal, greatly reducing sand adhesion, veining, and other casting defects, resulting in smooth casting surfaces.

4.Excellent Recyclability

The dense structure and high strength make it resistant to breakage during reuse, achieving a high recycling rate, reducing waste sand disposal, and lowering overall costs.

5.Easy Collapse and Cleaning

The sand collapses readily after pouring, facilitating fast and easy casting cleaning, reducing post-processing labor, and is compatible with various binder systems.

 6.High Thermal Conductivity and Stability

The sand maintains stability at high temperatures and resists cracking, ensuring reliable mold performance.

7.Wide Range of Applications

Suitable for resin sand, water glass sand, clay-bonded sand, lost foam, shell molding (V-process), investment casting, and polishing/cleaning of copper and aluminum castings.
